I’m baaaaack! Oh goodness, I’m back. I took an unannounced hiatus from blogging and I’m back now. I decided not to make a big deal about it- just take some time away, then return. And here I am!

The last season has been filled with lots of opportunities I’ve been excited to accept, which prompted me to take a break from blogging for a moment to readjust. It was a decision where I had to temporarily re-prioritize my time and daily investment.  Now that I’m adjusted and I’ve developed a new rhythm, I’m ready to jump back into blogging again at BeWellWellness!

YET NOW IT IS JANUARY (AND A NEW YEAR!). Insert big eyed emoji here. I HAVE MISSED YOU, kind friends.

Let me share with you what’s been going on here since I’ve been off-the-grid here at BeWellWellness…

Some highlights from the last 3 months:

I’m back to teaching!

I’m back to teaching full-time in my favorite setting- the University! I have various roles right now but I’m doing much more teaching now that I had to readjust my time. I still pinch myself because working at the University setting is just one of my favorite environments- I enjoy working with college students. I think it’s such an exciting, transitional, growing place that I love love love being part of the collegiate community. At a University setting, I’ve served in a teaching role, staff, administration, and obviously a student. So I feel like I have a unique perspective. I’m so thrilled.

My health report

Only a Wellness Strategist gets excited about their health screening. Ha. I realize you may or may not hold the same interest. To garner my excitement of how excited I was, my husband and I even made it a morning date to go to our screenings together and then grab breakfast. #datingasadults

Hey, you do what you do.

I truly believe that health screenings are valuable to knowing your health better, for everyone. #advocate #knowyournumbers

I also used to plan university-wide health screenings, so I have an investment, passion, and thankfulness for the benefits of community health screenings. I’m that person who’s happy to see so many people at a health screening because my hope is that it provides information, awareness and/or motivation to advance their health- whatever that looks like for them.

Basically I was pumped because my health report was my best health screening report ever. And I’ve had some good ones. Yee-haw. The reason why this was so exciting to me, besides my quirkiness that I take full ownership for, is because the last few months have been busy and transitional. So it makes these results even more exciting for me.

Visiting with family and friends

Christmas time laughing

Oh Christmas was lovely, my friends. In December we stayed local to the midwest area with local roadtrips and day trips. We listened to Christmas music (thank you Michael Buble on Pandora), had a roaring fire on the tv (thank you YouTube…too bad it doesn’t provide heat), and decorated the inside and outside of the house for the holidays. Fa la la la laaaa!

But also, we saw family from near and far from both sides of our family. I even had family fly into town from NY and it was so fun seeing them. We laughed and ate, we went to the indoor trampoline facility (and I can’t remember the last time I laughed that hard), and we just visited.

Sarah & Rob getting married

Back in the fall we took a weekend trip to old stomping grounds in Ohio to witness the marriage of our dear friends. My husband and I were both part of the wedding day and we were thrilled. Frankly these are two people we introduced to each other and it was awesome seeing them announce their vows. We were also able to see other friends and family, but goodness- it’s so hard to see everyone in such a short period of time! Just another reason why we should visit again.

Local girlfriends

I have several girlfriends who are simply wonderful people and after moving to a new community, connecting with others socially. It’s good for the soul. I just think it’s awesome when women connect, and women can empower and uplift other women. I’m thankful for these wonderful women.

So now it’s 2018 and I’m back to writing here on BeWellWellness. I hope you’ll join me and return.

My best,

Laura
